Discover the science behind wine at STEM: Science Uncorked, April 25
SEATTLE, WA (April 9, 2013) Sip, snack, and explore the other “stem” education at Science Uncorked, Pacific Science Center’s soirée celebrating science straight from the vine. Wind down with wine tastings from some of Washington’s finest wineries, create ‘corky’ crafts and nibble on noshes perfectly paired with everything from Pinot to Merlot under our signature arches.
Representatives from over 20 wineries and organizations will be here to pour tastes, discuss body, bouquet and aroma and answer inquiries about vino.

While savoring sips from across Washington state, nibble on scientifically selected snacks to learn how to pair tastes and discover which foods enhance earthy undertones and which complement floral finishes. Then, get your creative juices flowing with wine-related crafts using corks, charms and even succulents.
With the help of South Seattle Community College’s Northwest Wine Academy, guests can test the chemical composition of wines to understand how varieties differ from one another. Take a whiff of aromatically infused wines, practice identifying specific smells and learn how the size of wine glasses influences taste and which shapes scientifically support balanced flavor for both whites and reds.
Science Uncorked features exclusive wine tastings and science lessons from local wineries and educational institutions. Tickets are on sale now, with limited availability at the door.
Thursday, April 25, 7-10 p.m. at Pacific Science Center, located under the arches, near the Space Needle. Tickets are $45 ($40 for members) and include unlimited tastings and food sampling, take-home crafts and entertainment. Discounted rates are available for designated drivers and include 2 tastes and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages This event is for 21+ only. Guests must show valid identification at the door. Now in its seventh year, Science with a Twist continues to increase Pacific Science Center’s audience diversity by bringing discovery to an adult audience. These gatherings combine science, food and cocktails to
