D-Day 2014: 70th Anniversary
To pay tribute to the millions of men and women who served our country both today and 70 years ago during the pivotal invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, Pacific Science Center extends free admission to the new IMAX® 3D film, D-Day 3D: Normandy 1944 and to general exhibits starting Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8.
The heroism that marked World War II's largest Allied operation is well known. Yet until now, few have been privy to strategic details about why and how, from the end of 1943 through August 1944, Normandy became the most important location in the world. Through the innovative IMAX® technologies used in D-Day 3D: Normandy 1944, guests of all ages can relive the stories of the Greatest Generation and engage in a new, penetrating look at this defining moment in history.
Blending multiple cinematographic formats including animation, CGI and stunning live-action images, D-Day 3D: Normandy 1944 opens opportunities for families with members who have served or are serving in the military to pay tribute to the heroes of World War II and to spark conversations about the historic landing that changed the world. Offer is only valid Friday June 6 through Sunday June 8. It allows current or former military member FREE admission to D-Day 3D: Normandy 1944 and general admission to Pacific Science Center. Please bring an ID that shows past or present military service. Offer is not valid for SPY: The Secret World of Espionage or added features such as Planetarium and Laser Shows. D-Day 3D: Normandy 1944 admission is first come, first served.
