Summer Break Camps
Camps for Curious Minds are now offered in eight locations:
Seattle, Bellevue, Medina, Redmond, Bothell, Sammamish, Tacoma and Covington.

Registration is now open, but please note: our camp registration process has been updated.
Because your child's medical information and liability release will now be attached to your child's registration, we are no longer able to register camps by phone. All registrations must be made online.
Please have the following available when you register:
- Emergency contact name and phone.
- Child's insurance information.
- Child's medications/dosages/prescribing physician's name.
A note for those registering multiple children: when registering multiple children you must register one child at a time. Once you have completed the registration for your first child you will then see the "add another camper" button allowing you to choose camps for a second child.

Cancellation Policy: Requests for withdrawal from summer camp must be received at least two weeks before camp start date. A $100 processing fee will be retained per camp. No refunds will be given within two weeks of the camp start date.
Transfer Policy: To transfer sessions, please call (206) 443-2925. There will be $20 processing fee per transfer (excluding transfer resulting from openings on our camp waiting list which are free of charge).
Kid Code: At pick-up you will be asked the Kid Code you selected at registration. This code functions as a password; share this code only with anyone authorized to pick-up your child. This is a security measure to ensure all campers leave with authorized adults. Camp staff will release campers only to those who know the Kid Code, or who show picture identification that matches names listed on the medical form. If you forget your Kid Code before camp begins, ask the teachers as you drop off your child on the first day of camp.
Campers should bring the following each day:
- Two snacks.
- Sack lunch, if you are not signed up for the Lunch Program offered at Pacific Science Center location.
- Water bottle.
- Any medications listed on your medical form.
Attendance: We expect children to attend each day of their camp (except for illness) and to arrive and depart at the scheduled time.
- Children arriving late or leaving early must be escorted by camp staff. Parents must wait for camp staff; this process can take over 15 minutes.
- Late arrival and early pick-up are disruptive to the entire camp as many of our activities are cumulative and group based. Please avoid scheduling appointments and other activities during the camp day.
- If you plan to pick-up early, notify your child's teacher in advance and pick up your child before 3 p.m. After this time, camp staff may be unavailable to escort your child.
Communication during Camp: Each afternoon, we will send a daily camp summary from your camper's teachers to the email address provided at registration.
Parent Presentations: Some camps have a parent presentation on the last day of camp. Look for more information in your daily parent letter.
Field Trips: Some camps have a field trip during the week. Look for more information in your daily parent letter.
Location-specific information for summer camps:
Pacific Science Center
Morning Drop-Off: Camp takes place at Pacific Science Center, 200 Second Avenue North, Seattle. Drop-off is on the west side of Pacific Science Center, outside the Seattle Rotary Discovery Labs, located at 2nd Ave. North and John Street. Drop-off times vary for each camp; please check your confirmation material for specific start time. On Monday please walk your child up to the camp teachers. Other days, teachers will be waiting on the sidewalk for curb-side drop off.
Afternoon Pick Up: Camp end times are staggered to accommodate the large number of campers. Please check your confirmation material or with your camper's teacher for a specific end time. (If you have siblings with different camp end times, please inform the teachers.) Pick up is in Sacred Heart Church parking lot. (see map) You will not be able to pick up your child at the entrance to the Discovery Labs (except for extended day). Please allow yourself 10-15 minutes to find parking. Or, stay in the car for pick-up:
- If you arrive early, please circle the block until the camp ends.
- If staying in your car, you will not be allowed in the parking lot until the scheduled pick up time.
- Staff will ask the name of your child, camp name and Kid Code. If you forget your Kid Code at the time of pick-up, you must park and walk to camp staff to show photo identification.
- Staff will walk your camper to your car.
We allow a 10-minute grace period for picking up your camper; your child will then be placed in extended day care for a $12 fee.

Extended Day: Morning extended day care is available from 7-8:30 a.m. Afternoon extended day care is available until 6 p.m. Cost is $50 per 5 day week, $40 per 4 day week, $30 per 3 day week or $12 daily. For unplanned extended day care use, please inform the teacher in the morning and pay with cash or check when picking up your child. Pick up for extended day is at the Discovery Labs entrance on Second Avenue North.
Lunch Program is offered at Pacific Science Center location only. You may sign up for the Camper Lunch Program prior to or on the first day of camp before 8:30 a.m. Cost is $30 per 5 day week, $24 per 4 day week, $18 per 3 day week. The Lunch Program is not available on a day-by-day basis. If your camper has any food allergies, please do not sign up for the lunch program, as we are unable to make any substitutions. (see menu)

Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center
Morning Drop-Off: Camps take place at the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center at 1625 118th Avenue SE, Bellevue, WA 98005. The Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center is a full campus with various small buildings connected by a series of walkways. (see map) Drop-off takes place in the turn-around for camps in Licorice Fern and Salmonberry classrooms, and in the North parking lot for camps in Dragonfly or Pond Lily classrooms. For full-day camps, drop-off takes place 8:45-9 a.m. each day; camp activities begin promptly at 9 a.m. On Monday, please park and walk your child to his or her classroom. Other days, teachers will be waiting on the sidewalk for curb-side drop-off.
Afternoon Pick-Up takes place 3:45-4 p.m. Pick-up takes place in the same location as drop-off. If you forget your Kid Code at the time of pick-up, you must show photo identification. We allow a 10-minute grace period for picking up your camper; at 4:10 your child will be placed in extended day care for a $12 fee.

What to Bring to Camp: Our camps spend a large portion of every day outside. Please make sure your child is prepared for weather and that all items are labeled with your child's name. Day Pack (for lunch, water, snacks and any other daily needed items).
- Large sack lunch.
- 2 snacks.
- Water bottle.
- Weather appropriate clothing.
- Waterproof jacket or poncho.
- Shoes or boots that can get wet and muddy and are comfortable for hiking.
- Hat (for sun protection and warmth).
- Full change of clothes and shoes in a labeled bag (Bring on first day, to be left on-site for the week).
- Sunglasses.
- Any Medications listed on your medical form. Please give any medications to camp staff on the first day of camp.
Please do not send any valuables with your child to camp. Valuables include, but are not limited to, money, hand-held games or musical devices, pocket knives and cell phones.
Extended Day: Morning Extended day care is available 7:30-9 a.m. Afternoon Extended day care is available until 6 p.m. Cost is $50 per 5 day week, $40 per 4 day week, or $12 daily. For unplanned extended day care use, please inform the teacher in the morning and pay with cash or check when picking up your child. Please drop off and pick up your camper in the Licorice Fern Classroom in the building nearest the Tree House.
Lunch Program is not offered at this location.

University of Washington Bothell
Morning Drop-Off:Camp takes place at University of Washington Bothell, 18115 Campus Way NE, Bothell, WA 98011. Drop-off takes place at the surface lot at the end of 180th St. on the south end of campus; use SR 522 Campus Entrance along South Campus Way. Look for Pacific Science Center camp signs. (see map)
Drop-off takes place between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m. each day; camp activities begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. On Monday please park and walk your child up to the camp teachers. Other days, teachers will be waiting on the sidewalk for curb-side drop off. All parking is permit only. If you park without paying, you will get a ticket (see extended day exception below). To pay for parking, please visit a pay station in the surface lots or in the South Parking Garage.
Afternoon Pick-Up: Camp end times are staggered to accommodate the large number of campers. Please check your confirmation material or with your camper's teacher for a specific end time. Pick-up takes place in the same location as drop off. If you forget your Kid Code at the time of pick-up, you must show photo identification. We allow a 10-minute grace period for picking up your camper; your child will then be placed in extended day care for a $12 fee.

For unplanned extended day care use, please inform the teacher in the morning and pay with cash or check when picking up your child. Extended Day is located in the same building as camp. Parking is allowed at no charge for extended day drop-off and pick-up in the smaller surface parking lot at the end of 180th street. Please park and walk inside, follow the signs for Pacific Science Center Camps.
Lunch Program is not offered at this location.
